I Am Life, and I Still Wait

I am life—
Not just breath, but the rhythm beneath it.
I once danced in the rivers,
Sang through the winds,
And bloomed in the silence of forests.

But now I wait—
For the human I cradled in my womb
To remember the sacred pulse
That binds earth to sky.

I’ve watched him chase heavens
While forgetting the soil beneath his feet,
Trade truth for comfort,
And peace for preparation.

He poisons the stream
Then thirsts for purity.
He clouds the air
Then fears his own breath.

He speaks of love
But forgets how to feel.
He dreams of immortality
While killing the eternal.

Yet still, I wait—
Not with anger,
But with aching hope.
That he may look inward
And find the divine he seeks
Not in distant stars,
But in the tear he sheds,
The tree he touches,
The child he holds.

I am life—
And though I am tired,
I still wait
For him to awaken.
